Edit me

QuickyHUD is a tool designed to simplify and speed up positioning on QuickySitter furniture. It allows creators and users to quickly fine-tune avatar positions directly while sitting, without navigating complex menus.

HUD quick overview

The HUD provides quick access to the most important positioning functions for QuickySitter adjustments. The control map below labels every button, and the numbers match the list that follows.

QuickyHUD in pose mode
  1. Menu: opens the furniture’s pose menu (the glowing bolt in the center).
  2. Select sitter: choose whom you adjust. Normally only sitters in your own pose group; in ADJUSTMODE you can select any sitter.
  3. Sync: realigns drifted animations.
  4. Swap seat: switch seat. Direct with two seats, via a picker with more.
  5. Move X / Y: shift forward/back and left/right in three step sizes (0.01 / 0.05 / 0.1 m).
  6. Move up / down (Z): raise and lower height in the same three steps.
  7. Position ↔ rotation: switch the arrows to rotation control (RX/RY/RZ) and back.
  8. Settings: opens RESET (any sitter), plus AUTOSYNC and CLEAR (owner only).
  9. HUD size +/−: scale the on-screen HUD larger or smaller.
  10. Minimize: collapse the HUD to the bolt icon; tap it again to restore.
  11. Help: links to this manual, the Marketplace page and the support group.

Personal vs. permanent: Move and rotate (5–7, including Z) normally adjust your personal offset, saved per avatar and per pose, and restored the next time you sit. In ADJUSTMODE they instead edit the pose’s default values (the QuickySitter pose data, not offsets), the way a creator re-adjusts the base poses for everyone.

Inside the Settings menu (8): RESET (reset the selected target to its default pose) is available to any sitter; AUTOSYNC (off / 60 / 120 / 180 s) and CLEAR offset storage are owner only. ADJUSTMODE is not in here: since 1.26 it is entered from the furniture’s [ADJUST] menu, see below.

Automatic / background: offsets are saved and restored per avatar and pose, the HUD follows you across a seat swap, and with RLV active the hover height is set to 0 on attach and restored on detach. How the HUD reaches you in the first place depends on what the creator chose, see Getting the HUD.

Key Features

Fast Adjustment

The most commonly used adjustment steps are available directly on the control pad:

  • 0.01: small step
  • 0.05: middle step
  • 0.1: large step

These steps can be used immediately via the directional controls.

Camera-Aware Movement

The HUD evaluates the camera position to determine movement direction. This ensures that positional adjustments always feel logical and intuitive, regardless of the viewing angle.

Example: Moving “left” on the control pad will move the avatar left relative to your current camera view, not the world axis.

Getting the HUD

How you get the HUD depends on the furniture. Every piece uses one of these three ways, and the creator decides which:

  • The 💠 POSE HUD entry. Sitting down does nothing by itself. Open the furniture’s [ADJUST] menu and press 💠 POSE HUD, and the HUD attaches. Press the same entry again and it detaches, so one button covers both directions and you never need right-click > Detach.
  • Auto-attach. The HUD attaches by itself when you sit, using the AVsitter Experience, with nothing to press and nothing to find in your inventory. Where that Experience is not available, you get a permission request on every sit.
  • A button of the creator’s own. Placed anywhere in the furniture’s menus. It behaves like the 💠 POSE HUD entry, including the second press that puts the HUD away.

In every mode the HUD is also attached for you when you enter ADJUSTMODE and are not wearing one, and a HUD that only appeared for that purpose is taken away again when you leave the mode. One you fetched yourself stays.

Swapping seats keeps your HUD: if you were wearing one before the swap you get it back on the new seat, and sitters who had none stay HUD-free.

Which of the three modes a piece uses is set in its hudconfig notecard, together with the HUD’s default screen position and its reserved storage. If the furniture is yours, you can change it: see The hudconfig notecard in the Creator Edition manual.

Animation Re-Sync

When several avatars share a multi-person pose, their looped animations can drift out of phase, for example when one person sits down later than the others. The SYNC button on the HUD realigns all running animations on the furniture to a shared beat, so the cycle starts at the same moment for everyone.

Usage:

  • Tap the SYNC button on the control pad for a one-shot manual re-sync.
  • For long sessions, the owner can enable AUTOSYNC from the Settings menu: pick an interval (60 s, 120 s, or 180 s). The interval ticker actually runs inside the furniture ([QS]boot), not the HUD, so the furniture keeps re-syncing on schedule even after the HUD is detached; it stops when AUTOSYNC is set back to off.

Notes:

  • Re-Sync only affects looped animations on the furniture you are currently sitting on.
  • It is safe to press at any time; it never interrupts or restarts a pose, only realigns the timing.
  • AUTOSYNC settings persist across HUD detach/reattach, and because the ticker lives in the furniture the periodic re-sync continues while the HUD is detached.

ADJUSTMODE for Creators

ADJUSTMODE is a working mode for furniture creators. While ADJUSTMODE is active, every position and rotation change made with the HUD is written directly into QuickySitter’s pose data instead of being stored as a per-avatar offset.

Since 1.26 ADJUSTMODE has exactly one entrance: the [HELPER HUD] button in the furniture’s [ADJUST] menu. The toggle that used to sit in the HUD’s own Settings menu is gone, it was a second door into the same mode with its own separate guard. Who may use it is decided by the furniture’s Adjust ACL (owner by default, widenable to group or everyone in [QS]root-security’s [SECURITY] menu, or with the /5 adjust chat command).

Workflow:

  1. Sit down and open the furniture’s [ADJUST] menu, then press [HELPER HUD]. On a piece that does not attach the HUD automatically, one is attached for you.
  2. Adjust poses with the HUD as usual.
  3. When finished, use QuickySitter’s [DUMP] function to write the new values into a fresh AVpos notecard.
  4. Leave ADJUSTMODE with [DONE] or [ADJUST OFF] in the pose menu. Standing up also ends it.

Notes:

  • Changes apply to all sitters and are written to the furniture’s Linkset Data, so they survive a script reset, rerez and region restart. To revert, adjust the pose data again or re-seed from a fresh AVpos notecard.
  • ADJUSTMODE replaces the classic AVsitter helper objects for live pose tuning.

Storage You Can See and Control (Owner Only)

Saved pose offsets are stored in the furniture’s Linkset Data. Open the Settings menu to access two storage functions:

  • The CLEAR confirmation dialog shows a storage report: the number of stored offsets in the persistent LSD tier plus the volatile RAM tier, and the free Linkset Data space in bytes. It is a count of what is stored, not an estimate of how many more poses will fit.
  • The CLEAR offset storage button deletes all saved offsets for all avatars and all poses in one step. A confirmation dialog prevents accidental clearing.

Persistent (LSD-tier) offsets are never evicted automatically; when the LSD tier is full, new offsets spill into a volatile in-RAM tier that evicts its oldest entry (LRU) to make room. That RAM tier is lost on a script reset, whereas the LSD tier persists.
